Welcome to the home of SFX/VFX at the National Film and Television School, UK. We’re a talented team of artists, modellers, compositors and problem-solvers living in a portacabin at the side of the site, and get involved with some of the maddest projects in the school.
What do we do?
Special Effects are generally done on set and in-camera. Stuff like pyrotechnics, smoke, rain, prosthetics and mechanical rigs.
Visual effects are the ones done using a computer – including green/bluescreen shots, background replacements and using CGI to create or augment characters and props.
